Grrrl Love and Revolution

Video (41 min. 36 sec.), USA: The Riot Grrrl movement of the 1990s launched a feminist punk revolution that continues to inspire young women politically and creatively.

Abby Moser, founder of One District Media, spent most of the 1990s documenting and writing about the movement. The film that came out of this footage premiered at the the Museum of Modern Art in NYC in March 2011, has shown at numerous film festivals, and is distributed by Women Make Movies. The film continues to serve as an invaluable archive for students learning the history of feminism and pop culture. It is an inspiring tribute to what is possible when a group of girls band together and believe that they are a "revolutionary soul force that can, and will, change the world for real" (Riot Grrrl Manifesto).
